Two year olds are the BEST!!!
It's always fun to try out new locations, especially with really fun subjects. This little cutie is two years old and didn't want to hold still for a minute. Who can blame her? I basically got to chase her around and beg, cajole, and wheedle to get the pictures we did. What a riot! The end result being just what I was hoping for, a cute little girl just being her happy normal self. Those are the kind of pictures that I love!

And the award for Mother of the Year goes to...
This session is one of my all time favorite family sessions ever. This is the family of a dear friend of mine who happened to mention on a Saturday that she needed family pictures taken. I was wanting to do a family session in the poppy field that I've mentioned in a previous post but knew that the flowers would not last long so I said "How about Monday?" This amazing woman bought new outfits for EVERYONE and had FIVE girls (yes Mom counts) ready in two days! Okay, so only another Mom or photographer would appreciate the magnitude of that achievement. These lovely ladies were an absolute joy to work with and I hope you enjoy looking at their images as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Okay . . . a little creepy.
The brilliant gentlemen of Solar Shock Pictures have let me tag along and shoot some stills of their new film Elysium. It has been an absolute blast! I love everything to do with movies so hangin' around set is like being a kid in a candy store for me. This handsome guy is Justin "Spot" Beecher, a good friend of mine. He was transformed into this amazing character by the incredibly talented Chris Hanson. Now I have major scary clown issues, stemming from a ten minute viewing of Stephen King's "It". That's right, haven't seen the whole movie, ten minutes was MORE than enough! Needless to say, I haven't been working on these pix late at night!

Come fly with me . . .
I LOVE hot air balloons. Seriously, they are like presents hanging in the sky. They just make me soooooo happy. So you can imagine how ecstatic I get when once again it is time for my beloved Ogden Valley Balloon Festival. The festival takes place during August in Eden, Utah. Beautiful scenery, crisp mountain air, gorgeous balloons, what more could one ask for? This year has been extra special. One of my New Year's resolutions was to stop making excuses and start doing more of the things that I've always wanted to do, so this year I went up in a balloon. It was absolutely amazing. I can't possibly recommend it highly enough. Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the weekend. Feel free to visit my page on facebook to see some more and while you're there become a fan. I will love you forever! =)

Cutest little street fighter ever!
Oh how I love these pictures. This is a neighbor boy of mine who showed up one day with a black eye. I think he'd been playing baseball with his brother and got whacked. As soon as I saw him I just had to try this picture which I'd been wanting to do since I had seen a fellow photographer shoot one of his own son sportin' a lovely shiner. Anyway, this little guy was PERFECT, he's not mad, he's "acting". We had so much fun. I was a little sad that the eye had faded by the time we were able to take these so if anyone has a black eye, let me know, and I'll do a complimentary session. So fun!

It was about time
Have you ever had something that you kept meaning to do but kept putting off? I do it all the time unfortunately. I see something that I want to photograph but think later, or next year. That's what this field of poppies has been for me. I kept seeing it and thinking, I need to take pictures of that, but never got around to it. Finally this year I decided no more excuses! This beautiful place is in Eden, Utah, overlooking Pineview Reservoir. For those who might not know, Eden is a part of Ogden Valley, which in my humble opinion is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I count it a great privilege to able to live here.

Something funny happened on the way to rehearsal . . .
I was able to photograph the children of a good friend on Saturday. I was worried about finding the right time but they were kind enough to get up very early on a Saturday morning so that I could take the pictures before running to a rehearsal. I had so much fun with these two, she was a natural and he just got to play. We got rained on just a little bit but it was worth it!
